Minister of State for DFID visits CLP activities in RDRS working area

Mr Desmond Swayne MP, Minister of State for DFID – UK Department for International Development visited UKaid funded Chars Livelihoods Programme (CLP) in Kurigram on 24 August 2015. The Minister, along with the Team Leader of CLP Bangladesh Matthew Pritchard and other officials visited Char Mudafot village under Aushtomir Char in Chilmari Upazial of Kurigram district. Mr Swayne saw Milk Collection Centre, Char Business Centre and Village Savings and Loan Project. He also talked with the CLP programme participants. The Minister was highly impressed seeing the project impact. He was particularly interested in the impact that CLP was having on women’s incomes and their overall status in society.

After his visit at Char Mudafot, British Minister of State visits RDRS run Community Radio station Radio Chilmari. He gave a brief interview to Radio Chilmari and talked about different development issues.

 

Ms Monjusree Saha, Head of Programme Coordination of RDRS Bangladesh welcomed the British Minister Mr Desmond Swayne MP during his visit.
