Closing session of 13th batch habitants of RDRS Rehabilitation Center
12 young girls who are victims of severe violence and injustice such as domestic violence, child marriage, dowry, torture, sexual abuse and repression started their new life after ceremonial rehabilitation from 15 June 2017.
RDRS Bangladesh rehabilitated them after providing six months skill development training including legal aid, counseling, and education paving their ways to achieve self-reliance through income-generation activities. Mohammad Enamul Kabir, Executive Director of RDRS Bangladesh addressed the event and distributed certificates among the rehabilitees. Monjusree Saha, Director (Development Program) of RDRS Bangladesh facilitated the closing session.
5 JOYEETA awardees from Rehabilitation Center have shared their experience to inspire the departing 12 habitants. Chairman of Rangpur Chamber of commerce; Assistant Director of Youth development department; President of Professional Forums, Director (Microfinance program) of RDRS Bangladesh; Representative of UCEP, police and victim support center and print-electronic media journalists were also present in the event. All guests are committed to provide support to the rehabilitees from their own space.
