Mother and Child Health Ante-natal clinics
Children are the future and the main resource of Bangladesh Building a healthy population starts at birth, yet nationwide, only 10% pregnant women enjoy access to antenatal care and only 5% of all births are attended by trained personnel. In Bangladesh every year almost 28,000 women die due to complications in pregnancy and childbirth, one out of 25 women die as a result of pregnancy related problems and many more suffer long-term maternal morbidity. The current level of maternal mortality is around 4.5 percent per 1000 live births which happens to be a staggering 150 times higher than the rates recorded in the developed countries. Yet simple and effective ante-natal services can easily be established to protect mother and child and ensure a much healthier population.

Through the generosity of you or your organisation, you can take an active part in supporting this improvement for poor mothers and newborn children.

RDRS Bangladesh, a well-known and established development NGO has been working in the impoverished northern parts of the country since 1972, and highly effective mother and child health clinics are operated by them in the remote rural areas. The government facilities often do not reach or lack resources here.
