RDRS Bangladesh,
a well-known and established development
NGO has been working in the impoverished
northern parts of the country since 1972,
and highly effective mother and child health
clinics are operated by them in the remote
rural areas. The government facilities often
do not reach or lack resources here. At
present RDRS, has been working with a few
antenatal clinics and pregnant mothers offering
safe delivery services and training birth
attendants. RDRS has been implementing these
in 23 Upazilas (Sub-district) of six districts
of RDRS working area.
The cost of running one
clinic for one year is Tk. 51,337 or USD
1000 approx.
The cost includes staff,
training of traditional birth attendants,
medicines, equipment, supervision and health
education materials. For the sponsors of
a Mother and Child Clinic, RDRS Bangladesh
will provide the necessary service through
its skilled and experienced staff.
For the sponsors of an antenatal clinic,
RDRS Bangladesh will carry out the necessary
services through its skilled and experienced
