Another collaborative partnership which proved successful in 2000 was the RDRS-European Union project for micro-credit rehabilitation. Following the devastating floods of 1998, the EU provided Taka 50 million for this programme.

From the interest earned by that micro-credit programme, an emergency fund was created for use in future disasters.
