Cold Spell Report 2012

Sabrina Sharmin, 27 December 2012: A cold wave with dense fog and chilly wind is sweeping over Bangladesh for the last cold pixcouple of days. Poor people without appropriate housing and inadequate warm clothes in most parts of the country are shivering in the cold. People’s life in RDRS working area in Northwest Bangladesh is disrupted by dense fog and chilly wind. The poor, elderly and children are suffering from cold.
RDRS Bangladesh has already distributed over 3,000 blankets, 440 sharees, 220 lungees,
220 Tarpaulins and baby clothes to the poor as follows:

Warm clothes distributed by RDRS
RDRS is to distribute more 2,000 blankets, 300 sarees and 300 lungees among the cold affected poor people in its working area. RDRS will distribute the above items partly through FNB (Federations of NGOs in Bangladesh) members and local Church bodies.
